A fox pup, apparently alone, and maybe not in the best of condition. Uploaded so rehabbers or wildlife vets can advise on what action to be taken, if any.
Yes, Canon SLRs make for pathetic video devices. Add Canon SLRs to Nikon on the "Do Not Buy" list.

I've never heard ... By: LVskywalker. on 05 May 11, 17:14:04 I've never heard of? Canon SLRs that produce chronically underexposed footage, sorry. And no, I don't own a Canon camera that shoots HD video, but several of my friends do and the results look great... not underexposed at all. I've never used the T1i though, so I can only confirm that this doesn't seem to happen with newer Canon cameras. However, the shearing can indeed be a problem, but it's a problem that many SLRs share and can be compensated for in postproduction. :)
@ ... By: kenspia. on 05 May 11, 01:13:05 @SaganAppreciationSoc you need to collect the fox, clean her and vet her. She looks relatively? healthy but is probably unsteady due to hunger. She's old enough to eat though formula wouldn't hurt her at all. Offer her good quality puppy kibble and wet food. I'm in Louisiana and specialize in rehabbing possums, skunks and foxes. I am licensed and willing to take her to rehab. email me at critter-queen@cox.net

I am no expert on ... By: SuperGZK. on 04 May 11, 21:58:54 I am no expert on foxes. I have observed desert kit foxes? many times while working in the field. I know some experts I could ask. A lone pup exploring near the den opening is a common spring time site. Wild fox pups usually look pretty scruffy and scrawny. Just make sure the pup really is in serious danger by observing it from a distance for a few days. Your scent could drive the parents away, if the are there.
Canon SLRs are ... By: SaganAppreciationSoc. on 04 May 11, 20:55:38 Canon SLRs are trash. The T1i can't even do 24 frames in HiDef. I have one. You obviously don't, and buy the BS from Canon's deceptive (lying) marketing dept. I cite their "orientation sensor" in the T1i and T2i as an example? of a lie. They might be OK for highly-controlled lighting conditions, and perfectly stationary shots, but they chronically underexpose (you can't compensate either) and the moment you move the camera, you get screwy shearing. Focus is useless
Uh no. That's what ... By: SaganAppreciationSoc. on 04 May 11, 20:52:05 Uh no. That's what wildlife rehabilitators are for.?
I have rehabbers ... By: SaganAppreciationSoc. on 04 May 11, 20:51:25 I have rehabbers arguing saying that the kit is obviously in? distress, or, that while it's odd for them to be alone (not even a sibling seen) it's best to wait and see. Anyway the fox is currently missing.
Is he called Carl?? By: M0n0liths. on 04 May 11, 20:51:01 Is he called Carl??
Looks to be in good ... By: SuperGZK. on 04 May 11, 05:08:02 Looks to be in good health. Probably not alone. The worst thing you could do? it to get close. You don't want to scare the patents or get your smell around.

I know people say ... By: KonijNx2. on 03 May 11, 17:53:04 I know people say don't take them home and stuff, but in this case I probably would. Foxes? live a lot longer in captivity anyway. If you don't have other pets or young family members why not?
Foxes are wild ... By: Schneboll. on 03 May 11, 16:03:11 Foxes are wild animals no matter what. If he takes care of it too much the fox it perhaps wont flee from humans as an adult, and not all of us are good people? so it might come into harms way. Otherwise the fox wont really be tame ever.
I suggest? taking ... By: Androly. on 03 May 11, 15:03:22 I suggest? taking it to a local vet, though i'm not sure how much can be done. If you take too much care of it, it won't survive in the wild, but if you leave it alone, it might not make it alone.
Alternatively, adopt it and turn it into your own personal badass pet fox :)
I would try? ... By: PandyFackleresque. on 03 May 11, 14:32:37 I would try? calling a local vet for advice on how to handle it. Sometimes they'll even adopt them!

But Canon DSLRs = pathetic video devices? No way dude... There are TV-shows that are shot with those. You just need to know what you are doing, and the right lenses, and? the resulting video looks brilliant.

Oh dear, how ... By: GMJ7. on 03 May 11, 02:55:17 Oh dear, how forlorn he looks. :( I do hope he can be rescued or nursed to health if he's "not in the best of condition," as the description says. Seeing things like this, as mild as it is, reminds me of Dawkins' words that nature is not outrightly cruel, but rather callous? and indifferent.
