I took a chase scene from Buster Keaton - "COPS", and removed the sound. And then, instead of? classical music I put DUBSTEP as background music (a modern type of extreme dance music with lots of wierd sounds, deep basslines and heavy drums).
The result was pretty interesting, so I decided to upload it to Youtube.

In the scene with the building falling around him (Steamboat Bill jr) he only had about 1" in all directions from the heavy prop hitting him!! Every stunt? he does is just so AMAZING!! Done with incredible timing; and without green screens, stunt men, "computer enhanced", etc.. And he makes it look so effortless !! So entertaining!(One suggestion:I do replace the background music when I watch silents)

For example - in Steamboat Bill, Jr. where the front of the house falls around him, that'll probably be forever etched into Keaton and/or silents fans' minds. But who today can quote any dialogue Jimmy Durante rattled off in his and Buster's films? ;-)

Buster was still made of some very tough stuff, and I'd bet that he'd have maybe been killed outright if he hadn't had so much experience in physical comedy since childhood. Even though he wasn't expecting so much water pressure, I'd think maybe habit or instinct might've kicked in, saving his life.

Buster made so many films (and I don't count as "his" most all of the ones at MGM (aka "Malicious & Moronic Greedy Men") that I'd have been looking a long time to find them all.
Turns out, the only one of those I've seen is The High Sign, but only once so far, but so much action was in Buster's films that I might've missed that scene somehow.

Keeping busy kept him going.

I was bored, so I made a little video. I took a chase scene from Buster Keaton - "COPS", and removed the sound. And then, instead of? classical music I put DUBSTEP as background music (a modern type of extreme dance music with lots of wierd sounds, deep basslines and heavy drums). ..And he did ALL his own stunts !! He DID break his neck once during filming--and kept going! In the scene with the building falling around him (Steamboat Bill jr) he only had about 1" in all directions from the heavy prop hitting him!! Every stunt? he does is just so AMAZING!! Done with incredible timing; and without green screens, stunt men, "computer enhanced", etc.. And he makes it look so effortless !! So entertaining!(One suggestion:I do replace the background music when I watch silents)

I agree with the other 340,000 watchers....this is a blast of a compilation of Buster clips and the song really rocks along with Buster....thanks!! PS Buster was so many things but also freaking brilliant since? he thought up 99% of the gags and constructed/destructed them like the collapsing car. He had a brilliant visual mind plus NO FEAR.

Amazing how well done the stunts are, and the camera tricks, the film where he plays all the different characters is so well done, and he did it all? on a broken ankle. Back before actors got special treatments.

This is THE FUNNIEST SILENT FILM COMEDY PERIOD. As good as Chaplin was, BUSTER KEATON IS THE ULTIMATE. I can't believe? I'm falling over myself on account of a movies made NINETY YEARS AGO. They are better than any comedy on the screen these days. What a Kick! And you call yourself WEEPINGPROPHET? You must be kidding. Nothing but laughter here.
