Dont know how it works with dual or quadcore PCs though, but usually GoG team has done great work to ensure that the games work on any system. You dont even have to download DOS-programs seperately, and manually start the game,? GoG team has done it all for you. Ofcourse it would be nice if the graphics would have been improved a little, but doesnt really matter

The gatherers(monsters) are mutilated beings and i doubt? a bullet would stop them, nor any melee weapon aside from perhaps a sword. The issue remains though that their sole purpose is killing you so even if you hacked an arm off, they would probably still kill you.

However I see a problem with there being no combat capabilities at all. I understand that helplessness is an aspect that adds to the intensity and horror of the game, but with running and hiding being the only ways to deal with enemies, a little more variety would help. I'm not saying there should be guns/ammo everywhere, but perhaps rare, limited use melee weapons or something would help vary the gameplay a bit.

La seconde partie est pas mal, néanmoins, c'est de la peur plutôt "facile". Disons qu'il y a beaucoup de gore, de cris, de sang, etc... C'est pourquoi la première moitié du film m'a beaucoup fait pensé à Alien, ou bien au jeux vidéo "Allan Wake", de part l'ambiance ( rien à voir avec le scénario )... Sinon, great movie ! i really wish Neil Marshall would make more horror films as intelligent and suspenseful as? this one, his other stuff is fun but it's more b-movie action-horror films for the sake of entertainment such as Dog Soldiers and Doomsday, i just think i'd like him to really try and aim to make more films like this one, i'd argue it's without a doubt his best.

This week-end, our girl-guides group went into a cave.The conversation came to this film and, apparantly, we'd almost all seen it at some point.Needless? to say, we hesitated to enter he cave. Even more so because once in it, you could only get out by descending. At one point, someone said she saw something white in the dark. We didn't move for I don't know how long. I was so scared you could hear my heart beating. Once we got out, everyone was shaking like mad. Plays with your mind, this film.

The Descent had a great premise, excellent suspense, etc, but CGI once? again let's films like this down!? The bats that fly out of the cave look like they've been drawn onto the screen, then animated by a click of a mouse. Even Sam Raimi had this? problem with Drag Me? To Hell during the last scene where the disintegrating skull looks saliently fake. Evil Dead 1 and 2 & Carpenters "The Thing", all kick ass with make-up visceral effects: that's where this film flounders when it shouldn't. CGI sux

This movie is so good! The acting is awesome, there was lots of gore (which I love) while maintaing a good plot and making you jump at times. It's also something very circumstantial, so if you don't go in caves, there's no? reason to be scared after the movie. Also, half the movie is before they run into those cave dweller things. That half is more realisistc, which made it really good.

And your point is? I? didnt find it very scary either but its one of my favorite films because of the great story and atmosphere the movie provides. A horror film doesnt have to just be solely focused on making you jump, those films just end up like all those cheap american horror films.
