In fact, just as you posted? this, I was noticing that it is very much up for debate... on the Wikipedia Talk page for "String Field Theory". Apparently people keep editing the page to (erroneously) give him credit as cofounder, based upon what they've read in a popular science book, when in fact the relevant papers don't justify the title.
Amusingly, the "popular science book" in question is "Parallel Worlds", authored by Kaku, where he claims to be a cofounder.

I'm the one who brought up Kaku's involvment in String Field Theory in the 1st place, while correcting user SkinnyLittleNinja's erroneous claim of Kaku being a "co-founder of string theory", which is quite a different thing. Even noting the 1974 paper cited below.
It's not my fault that all he did was to translate ST into different language.

But its almost certain to get you a reputation among the lay-public for having contributed more science than you actually have. Sagan, Kaku, & to a lesser extent Hawking are good examples. I should clarify that Hawking really did do some good early work.? He's just not the "Einstein" many in the public seem to think. It's difficult to pick out a founder ("co" or not) of ST. But it goes back to 1943 & Werner Heisenberg. Its? revival in the 60s can be attributed to Gabriele Veneziano in his search for a theory of the nuclear Strong force. He was followed by others, including Shapiro & Susskind.
Kaku was a relative latecomer in the 70s as cowriter of a paper on String Field Theory, recasting the already extant ST into QM language.

Yes... right up to the time that you decide to walk around. Walking along the circumference of the wheel, apparent gravity would slightly increase or decrease depending upon your direction. But try to walk from side to side, and you'd very definitely notice. The gyroscopic effect would send? you sprawling. Climbing ladders should be interesting, too.

Yes.
"and co-founder of string theory"
No.
He co-wrote a paper casting String Theory into the language of Quantum Mechanics. You're confusing "String Field Theory" with "String Theory". I went to get details on? the paper, but Kaku is not mentioned in either the "String Field Theory" or "History of String Field Theory" Wikipedia articles.
Mainly, he's a well-known science popularizer. Though far from my personal favorite.
